The following videos feature an on-screen piano keyboard (the Blue keyboard!) - which clearly illustrates where to put your fingers.
I explain and demonstrate the harmonic structures (chords) of many arrangements, excerpts, compositions, and songs. Sometimes the arrangements are more fully-realised and are more like a keyboard performance. The focus of this content is on harmonic structure, moreso than on other aspects of the music.
In many of these videos, the notes that are played by the on-screen keyboard are often further explained, and clarified, with the aide of accompanying Presentation slides. These presentations (slides) can also be viewed (independently of the video) - within your web browser. But, when combined with the video, they work together in-tandem.
Particularly-selected videos include :
"composition in Dorian - harmonic structure chords" http://YouTube.com/watch?v=yihQ-4bu9GU ( Download link : http://SaveDeo.com/download?url=http%3A%2F%2Fyoutube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DyihQ-4bu9GU )I encourage you to download copies of these videos for ease of review. Simply pre-pend the following to any YouTube URL: http://SaveDeo.com/download?url="combine i7 and ii(7) chords to form dorian mode + 13th chords compound intervals 11 and 9 too" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyTuTO5C96A "dorian 3 chords root P5th below" http://www.youTube.com/watch?v=fO-9B8bcMBk That lesson features inverting a minor-7th chord (shape/voicing) to make a Major-6th chord. My most-recent post: "What is the name of this chord? : minor 6 + 9 ; i.e.: stacked fourths based on degree 3 of dorian" provides a good exploration of quartal harmony. http://www.Youtube.com/watch?v=TQ-Pm_Hzfww
